Forklift

Forklift & Mechanical Handling Training

Anyone operating machinery must be trained to meet Health and Safety at Work requirements. The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) requires every employer to be sure anyone who uses work equipment has received adequate training and holds Certificates of Basic Training, issued by an approved training provider, so to be qualified to operate machinery in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Our range of courses suit all levels of experience with training accredited by:

  • RTITB / NORS - Road Transport Industry Training Board
  • ITSSAR – Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register
  • CITB/CPCS Construction Industry Training Board/Construction Plant Competence Scheme

Our training is ideal for self sponsored private individuals, people funded through a charity or Job Centre as well as for companies upskilling their workforce, with a choice of two training venues:
In-centre training at our modern training centres using up-to-date equipment or On-Site at Client Premises

Training is available to anyone aged 17 or more who is physically and mentally fit (as a medical conditions or medication that would prohibit car driving equally apply to operating machinery) and does not suffer from problems with eyesight, hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilisy, fear of heights/vertigo, giddiness, difficulty with balance, impaired limb functions, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness.

Our instructors communicate in English therefore anyone with limited ability in conversational English must supply a translator. Literacy and numeracy skills are required as being able to read and thoroughly understand UK Safety Notices and Manufacturers Instruction Manuals, which may also be written in English, is important.

Our courses are designed to help you learn everything needed to obtain your qualification. However if you are not sure what length of training course is best for you please talk to our knowledgeable staff who can offer some advise.  Or, come along for a FREE practical assessment so our instructor can see your forklift skills and recommend the right course for you.

If you book directly on to one of our courses and find, due to your lack of experience or skill, that it is of insufficent duration your instructor will advise and you can simply an additional day or days as recommended by your instuctor at our standard training fees.

Our trainee to instructor ratio is 3:1. We are proud of our excellent training reputation and success rates as well as our flexible approach in arranging training to meet our customers needs.
